Blake Shelton Wins CMT Artist of the Year Award

Blake Shelton has received a CMT Artist of the Year Award and the singer just can't contain his happiness. The year 2015 has been very crazy for the country singer considering the major happenings in his life starting from his divorce with ex-wife Miranda Lambert up to falling in love again with Gwen Stefani who is his co-judge in the hit program The Voice.

Upon receiving his hard earned award at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Trace Adkins who is also a country singer gave him a warm introduction and even joked at the awardees love life. According to the 53-year-old singer and actor who has known Blake Shelton for around 15 years, it has been incredible to see the 'God Gave Me You' singer rising to fame.

"He has been named the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year five times. He has had four albums reach the top of the chart...15 No. 1 singles in a row...On top of all that, he has still got his day job on The Voice. Not a whole lot this guy can't do, other than keep his love life private," stated Adkins.

Blake Shelton who received the CMT award for the first time thanked everyone including his whole team who helped him a lot.

Meanwhile, the singer made a scene during the event when he picked on his friend Luke Bryan while he was receiving his award. Shelton joked about a scented candle which was named after Bryan. The audience were entertained when the 'Lonely Night' singer said that he also want a candle named after him.

"They smell exactly like Luke. It's like vanilla with a hint of deer urine," said Shelton talking about the candle in his hand.

On the other hand, Blake Shelton's ex-wife Miranda Lambert won an Artist of the Year Award last year wherein she thanked her former husband for being her rock.
