Microsoft Reveals New Nokia-Branded Phone 'Nokia 230'

Microsoft has just introduced its new Nokia-branded phone named as 'Nokia 230' which will be sold at a price of $55. The new device will feature a long battery capacity and will also be "perfect for selfies".

Microsoft's latest phone will be just $15 cheaper compared to its cheapest Lumia handset. However the new Nokia 230 will offer a decent selfie camera and an all-new design which other Lumia products can't offer.

The new device will include a 2MP rear and front camera. Supported by an LED flash, Nokia 230 is considered as the first phone of Nokia that offers decent selfie photos at the said price range.

In terms of the phone's specifications, customers should not expect that it can compete with the high end smartphones now available in the market. The device has a 2.8-inch screen with QVGA 320 x 240 display resolution. It is powered with 16MB of RAM with an expandable memory up to 32GB. It also has a 1,200 mAh battery capacity which can have a standby time of 27 days.

Other internal features include an FM radio, 15 fps video recording and both touch screen and physical buttons. Nokia 230 is also an internet phone which can run several apps like Facebook and some games coming from Opera Store.

In terms of design, the new phone contain a grey, sand-blasted aluminum cover. The said cover is impacted between the two bars at the bottom and top to synchronize it with the phone's color option. The aluminum design offers a decent look which is more visually appealing compared to Nokia's flagship which are Lumia 950 and 950 XL.

The device will be available in black and white color. There is also a different variety of Nokia 230 which offers a dual sim capability.

The new device will be sold at the aforementioned price in India, Asia and Middle East starting this December.
