The Role Of Dory Saved Ellen DeGeneres’ Career

In 2002 The Ellen show was put off and that was the time that Ellen DeGeneres the 57 year old star had a problem with her career. Ellen DeGeneres stated in an interview with the Entertainment Tonight, that playing the role of Dory the Blue Fish in the animated movie Finding Nemo was the biggest help to her when her career was falling apart and when she was having a very hard time finding projects or work.

She said on the interview that she did not have any type of work or just little projects at that time after her TV show was cancelled and it was kept private to the community for private reasons. She was doing nothing the whole time after her show was canceled but then the writer / director Andrew Stanton heard her voice on one of her TV show and went straight to her to convince Ellen that she would really fit that Dory role that they are offering her. It had to take three years to make the Finding Nemo and during that time Ellen has nothing to do at all. And when the Finding Nemo was about to be released she got her show back which was renamed to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".

Ellen says that the whole time she didn't have work she just sticks to Dory's motto to "Just keep swimming" that she can pretty much relate to. And all people shouldn't just lose hope despite of all the difficulties because even her who is now famous and happy had been through a rough time because of the belief that she can face all the hardships in life.

Her First "Ellen Show" was first cancelled because she revealed that she was a lesbian and people judged her right away but now she is happily married to Portia De Rossi and has a successful talk show.
