X-Files Style Haunted House Drama Series Being Developed by Fox

So, it looks like a lot of television networks are trying to getting in on the horror game. Fox just recently announced that it's adding another ordered series into their horror portfolio and viewers shouldn't expect a teenage-hormone filled comedy-horror humor like Scream Queens.

Tasked to write the script and direct the series is William Brent Bell, also known for his work in the 2012 The Devil Inside. He has an upcoming movie called The Boy. The Fox series will be executively produced by Chris Morgan and Ainsley Davies.

Fox describes it as a chilling series that revolves around the life of a military agent with the help of her ex-boyfriend who is also a demonologist. They embark on a quest to help a family in dire need of supernatural help and remove a host demon infestation in their own family home. The new television horror will be titled Haunted.

Haunted may have some similarities with The X-Files (and maybe a hint of Supernatural because of the demon exorcism?). This new Fox project delves more into the partnership of a female skeptic and a demon expert commissioned to drive away evil forces in what is supposedly a haunted house. This will be the whole storyline of the series. The character profiles won't involve FBI badges (whether real like The X-Files' or fake like Supernaturals').

The whole show is a loose adaptation from the book The Demon of Brownsvile Road a book, written by Bob Cranmer. Cranmer was a former army officer and most likely imparted some of his know-hows in the book. The book speaks of Cranmer's family recently purchasing a house in a Pittsburgh suburb. The family dream home will soon become a haunted nightmare.

People describes the book as being "... One of the scariest places on Earth!"

No dates have been set for the filming and release for Haunted as of yet, as posted in EW.
