If you've seen the Marvel movie, Ant Man, then there must be some part of you that was probably wondering how Dr. Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas) wanted Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) to be the man in "the suit". This deleted scene will tell you.
In the course of the movie or thereafter, you probably assumed that Pym must have seen Scott's face in the news or in the paper when he was sent to prison for robbing a big-time corporation because they were swindling money by the millions. Or maybe when he was released from prison because of the said robbery. And your assumption probably led to thinking that Pym must have known he'll do anything for money because he found out about how Scott is trying to win his daughter back and how hard it was for him to find a job, being a convict and all.
Well, this deleted scene will tell you that you're wrong. Apparently, when the gang was preparing to rob Pym's house - remember the scene where they bought all the supplies, mapped out the house, studied the electrical blueprint, got uniforms? - he also had the opportunity to enter Pym's house prior to the robbery.
Scott dressed up as a cable guy to check out what he'll be putting himself into and scopes out the scene before breaking into the basement vault finding nothing but the suit. And Pym was actually scoping him out too.
"We ended up cutting the scene out", Peyton Reed director of the film said. He felt that the story of Scott being resourceful as a burglar was enough (remember the fingerprint bit and the exploding the vault using nitro?) .
You can view the deleted scene here, as posted in EW.
More deleted scenes and extra are on the way when Ant-Man will be available on Digital HD, Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and Disney Movies Anywhere on December 8.
