One Direction's Hiatus Will Take a Little Longer Than Expected

Liam Payne confirmed that the band's hiatus will take more than a year.

A few months ago, the band announced that they are going to take a break individually to hopefully open another window of opportunity while they are at it. Although a lot of people assumed that they are splitting and that they are never coming back together again, the boys clarified that their break is definitely not the end of that band. They are only taking a break to spend more time with their friends and family as an individual and to find something new for each one of them.

The 1 Direction band members, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson have mentioned before that they might only take a year off, but recently, Liam Payne confirms in an interview that the hiatus will take more than a year.

Liam opened up about what he'll be doing during the break on BBC Radio 1 where he said that mainly, he wants to find his true place in this world. Ever since he became a part of the 1 Direction the only place that he focused on was the stage and the studios, he had been very busy with the band that he wasn't able to discover more of himself over the years. Then he said he'll be writing more songs, one of his favorite things to do while they are producing music, other than touring -- is writing songs. He said that there are a lot of things to write about, he's going to write for the people and about their comeback and himself.

He also said that the break is an opportunity for them to do stuff that they were too busy to even do as a band like, celebrating.  The band weren't able to celebrate all their success and their fans' work and their hard work properly because of all the recording and the touring and some other band-related stuff and during the break they could finally celebrate them.
