Kate Winslet: Talking About Gender Pay Gap Issue In Public 'A Bit Vulgar'

Kate Winslet has a different point of view regarding the hottest issue in Hollywood today, which is the gender pay gap controversy. The actress reveals that she is not comfortable talking about the issue.

During an interview with the BBC Newsbeat, the 'Steve Jobs' star stated that talking about salaries and the gender pay gap issue on public makes her feel uncomfortable. The 40-year-old actress believes that such topics should be discussed in private considering its sensitivity.

"I'm having such a problem with these conversations," states the actress referring the gender gap controversy.

Though the 'Titanic' star understands the sentiments of the female actress supporting the bandwagon like Jennifer Lawrence, she prefers private dealings for the issue.

"I understand why they are coming up but maybe it's a British thing. I don't like talking about money; it's a bit vulgar isn't it?" the actress reveals.

Many female celebrities in Hollywood are now complaining about getting lesser pay compared to their male co-stars. Unlike 'The Huger Games' actress, Kate Winslet chooses a discreet way of dealing with financial issues.

The singer and actress admits that she is a lucky woman because she has never experienced sexism in the showbiz industry before. She is just happy with what she has and does now.
