Jason Priestley Hospitalized: Actor Suffers Concussion After Falling Off Horse On Set Of New TV Series

Jason Priestley was rushed to the emergency room on Monday after being thrown from a horse while filming his new TV series The Code. The 46-year-old actor remained in hospital overnight after being diagnosed with a concussion..

Jason was reportedly in the middle of filming when he fell off his horse and was immediately rushed to the ER with a concussion. The actor was said to have fallen “hard,” and was kept overnight by doctors because he has a “history of concussions” and neurologists wanted time to consider the full impact of his fall.

Concerned fans reached out to the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor after TMZ reported the story on Wednesday. Priestley subsequently shared a more comprehensive update via Twitter about the sequence of events and his prognosis.

Though likely in pain, Jason made sure to update his fans on his condition. Taking to Twitter on November 11, the actor assured fans that he was doing well while also thanking them for their kind thoughts.

“Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words… It’s true, I did get thrown off a horse on set… I got my bell rung pretty good,” he wrote.

“Because I have a history of concussions, they took me to see a neurologist for an assessment. He advised I take a few days off as I had suffered a concussion… But I am definitely on the mend and looking forward to getting back to work with all the wonderful people on The Code.”

Jason is a big auto racing fan and in the late 1990s he started to participate in circuit races.

In 2002, he was seriously injured when the Indy Pro Series car he was driving hit a wall at 180 mph during a practice run at the Kentucky Speedway. He was stretchered from the track and suffered a concussion and a fractured spine.

His feet and back were both broken, his skull was broken in several places, and his nose was ripped off. He was technically dead for nearly 45 seconds.
