With Spectre opening in 3,972 theaters, it has now become the second biggest Bond box office debut of all time. The movie has racked up to $73 million to date since it's very recent debut on November 6, 2015.
Sony reported ticket sales of up to $73 million on Sunday Morning. Spectre follows a little behind Skyfall's opening at $88.4 million record score in November 2012. On top of that, it also beat Skyfall's seven-day UK opening.
Spectre is a movie with the combined efforts of Skyfall director Sam Medes and Daniel Craig as James Bond or 007. The movie is an inevitable global success having details and solid content from the Bond Archives. Currently, the adult fan franchise continues to move successfully in the theatre rounds.
Analysts, however, say it might go lower in the next coming days as the film only drew in 78%. It shows that the audience didn't rush to see the film and may dip even further when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will be released on November 20, as told by Deadline. It might follow the previous trend when Skyfall dipped by 53% because of Twilight's last movie release.
The movie is about James Bond's confrontation with a sinister organization and Bond endeavors to find out the truth behind M's death and uncover the political and evil forces at work.
Despite the reviews, it still snagged the high box office scores.
Running second to Spectre is The Peanuts Movie as told by EW. The Peanuts Movie is based on the life of a boy named Charlie Brown and his best dog-friend Snoopy. It debuted as a 3D animated film this year but has long been an icon in the world of animated television series. It originally started as a comic strip written by Charles M. Schulz.
