Priscilla Presley opened up about her final conversation with late husband Elvis Presley, days before his untimely death.
Priscilla spoke with The Jonathan Ross Show as per Yahoo News, and talked about her last conversation with Elvis, days before he passed away. Back in August 16, 1977, the King of Rock died at the age of 42 due to heart failure at his home. Apparently he was supposed to fly that day to Memphis for his scheduled tour, which as Priscilla related, he was excited about. "He loved work, but he was dealing with a lot of issues, decisions that he had to make, so it wasn't easy," she added.
When she was asked about Elvis' health condition before he died and her concern for him, she responded, "He felt he was OK. He wasn't someone who you could just say, 'You need to really take care of yourself...' It was hard for anyone to do anything because ultimately it was his decision and he felt he was fine."
Priscilla also admitted that during their marriage it was kind of hard for her, as she realized she was living under the shadow of her husband's fame, "I was kind of lost really in who I was earlier in my life, I really didn't have teenage years. I learnt so much about him and was with him so much that I thought the way he did, I knew what he liked, what he didn't like, I knew his thoughts, I knew everything as far as you could possibly do when you live together at such a young age."
Priscilla and Elvis met in 1959 and tied the knot nearly eight years later, but their marriage was falling apart. The estranged couple divorced in 1973 and Priscilla received custody of their daughter, Lisa Marie. But though they were separated Priscilla revealed that by the time she heard about his death she was shocked and torn apart, adding, "Absolutely devastating. I mean still to this day it's hard to believe."
Elvis Presley was one of the notable music icon, he won three Grammy Awards and had 18 No. 1 singles, including "Don't Be Cruel" and "Good Luck Charm."
