Scott Marshall Dead: ‘Ink Master’ Season 4 Winner Tragically Dies In His Sleep At 41 [PHOTOS]

Scott Marshall tragically died in his sleep during the night of October 24, according to a new report. The 41-year-old competed on and won Season 4 of 'Ink Master.'

According to TMZ, he had called his wife Joanna the night before to tell her he wasn't feeling well enough to make the drive home. Instead, he went to a nearby hotel to sleep it off, but wasn’t answering Johanna’s phone calls the next day, she says.

But when she didn't hear from him the next day she became worried. She told the site that two police officers came to her door to inform her her husband had passed away in his sleep.

The preliminary autopsy reports show there was some sort of problem related to his heart. The death is currently under investigation by the coroner and local police, and no further details have been given at this time.

Scott shot to prominence when he was awarded the title of Ink Master on in 2014 after winning the reality competition outright. He also landed $100,000 and a featured spread in Inked Magazine.

During that season, he was selected as the best in the competition by Hugh Jackman, who had been brought in as a special guest judge when the artists were challenged to create a tattoo of his character Wolverine in X-Men Days Of Future past.

“Spike and entire Ink Master family are stunned and saddened by the news of Scott’s passing,” Spike TV said in a statement. “He was a great competitor and talented artist. Our deepest condolences go out to the Marshall family and friends.”

“We’re tremendously saddened by the passing of Scott Marshall, a vibrant, creative spirit and talent who will be missed by the entire ‘Ink Master’ family,” said Original Media, which produces the show, in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

Scott leaves behind his wife and three children, whom he posted pictures of to his Instagram account up to four weeks ago.
