Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez have made a joint announcement to end their marriage of two years. The news was confirmed for the Hollywood couple have already filed necessary divorce documents.
"It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce," the two stars announced.
Berry and Martinez, who married each other in 2013, filed for divorce on Monday due to irreconcilable differences. The two revealed their decision to the public on Tuesday, stating that they now want to focus on giving what would be best for their two-year-old son Maceo Robert Martinez.
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez still wish for each other's happiness. The Oscar-winning actress and the French actor are asking the public to respect the privacy of their son.
"We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children's privacy as we go through this difficult period," the two wrote in a joint announcement.
The divorcing couple wants to keep things at peace even in their separation. The 'Extant' actress and 'The Physician' actor are both seeking for joint custody for their son. Halle Berry who starred in the 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' repeatedly requests for the judge to consider the best interest of her son.
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez who got the chance to get to know each other while making the 2012 film 'Dark Tide' are not having issues for spousal support. In their prenup, the two have already agreed to share the expenses of raising their son. Berry has also stated in their prenup that her assets and earnings are her possessions.
Olivier Martinez can visit and take their son out of California with proper permission and will be the one to provide the transportation expenses.
