Halle Berry's New Legal Drama Pitch For CBS Replaces Extant

CBS's sci-fi series Extant, which stars Hollywood actress Halle Berry just got cancelled, which makes it unavailable for season 3. However, Berry is not going to be out of work because she will be producing a new legal drama for the same network.

For those who don't know about Extant, it is a story of a female astronaut who came back to earth pregnant after being alone in a mission that made her leave for a more than a year. The actress told Hollywood reporter, "I am so proud of what we accomplished on Extant."

She continued saying, "This season seemed such a natural place to end Molly's journey that I, along with CBS, felt it best served the story to leave it there. I've loved this experience working with such a talented cast and creative team."

The Hollywood Reporter made a noteworthy review about the series' initial success that it really gained money after the network linking up with Amazon, which then allowed CBS to stream the series even four days before it aired. That was some good publicity and marketing strategy that a lot of people could take note of. After that, it gained enough popularity that viewers wanted more of it for season 2.

The network has been very pleased so far as to what Berry and the other cast has accomplished with Extant, however, the network's President Glenn Geller thought it was time to conclude it. But for those who are sad about no longer seeing Berry on TV, fret not because her works are still going to be out there only this time, she will be writing and producing as well.

Her new show is going to be called "Legalease."  Entertainment Weekly described it as a series about a biracial lawyer from the city of Chicago, who will have her working case in New Orleans, while being partnered with a white lawyer.
