America Waits for Legally Blonde 3, Reese Witherspoon Spills

Reese Witherspoon spills the beans on what's up with Legally Blonde 3. Witherspoon tells us what Elle Woods is up to, on a recent episode of Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe. Elle Woods might be hanging out at the Oval Office.

When asked about a possible Legally Blonde 3, Witherspoon tells us that a lot of writers have come up with ideas for Elle Woods. In the Legally Blonde franchise, Elle Woods started out as a stereotypical blonde girl who didn't have common sense and only had fashion sense. She soon progressed to becoming one of America's top lawyers and solved numerous crimes. Legally Blonde successfully aired in 2001 and sequeled in 2003.

Reese stated in the Rachel Zoe interview that if there was a Legally Blonde 3, there are different ideas for it and she said it's a great idea to see Elle as a supreme court justice or maybe even in the Oval Office. Witherspoon connects it with the fact that we are now seeing more and more women in the office and how important a time it is for women.

Reese is well known for her support for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness, as well as advocacy against domestic violence.

She goes on to say that we're all ready to see what Elle is up to, but claims she doesn't know a thing and that we should ask MGM instead. Talk about grey facts and disclaimers. It may be true that it's not her place to say what will or will not happen if Legally Blonde 3 goes into production but she did say that she'd love to see our Blonde Gemini as president.

Witherspoon starred in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde back in 2003 and was directed by Charles Herman-Wurmfield. Legally Blonde 1 was released in 2001 by Robert Luketic. Christina Applegate almost played Elle Woods when the script passed by her hands but turned it down.
