Former Miss Austria Ena Kadic died on Tuesday from injuries suffered from a mountain fall while jogging near her home in Tyrol.
On Friday, the 26-year-old had been in a perilous condition after falling rapidly on the side of the Bergisel mountain near the city of Innsbruck.
Police said, Kadic successfully called her brother soon after she fell and notify him of the accident before she loses consciousness.
Two students found the critically injured woman near the Drachenfelsen (Dragon rock) panorama platform overlooking the steep ravine of the Sill River.
A helicopter then rescued Kadic and rushed her to a hospital in Innsbruck. She suffered from serious head trauma and some injuries in the lungs and pelvis where she failed to recover from and died on Tuesday.
Police, who have conducted an investigation as to how the former beauty queen had fallen, stated Kadic was a keen runner and familiar with the area too well. The exact circumstances underlying the accident remain uncertain.
According to latest statistics, Around 115 people had died and 2,385 were injured between May and September in the Austrian Alps of this year.
Ena Kadic won the title Miss Austria 2013 and represented Austria at the Miss World Pageant on September 2013 in Bali Indonesia.
