Some social media users accused Amy Schumer of stealing jokes from the late comedian Patrice O'Neal, who died in November 2011 at the age of 41 after suffering a stroke. She allegedly used it on her HBO stand-up special 'Live At The Apollo,' which premiered on Saturday.
According to Gossip Cop, towards the end of the show, Schumer joked about some of the unusual and outrageous sex acts. She gave some examples of the different positions, one is known as the "Abraham Lincoln," while the other is called the "Houdini."
However, after her show, a video has emerged on the internet, featuring O'Neal's set at the 2007 'Just For Laughs' festival in Montreal, where he explained some similar jokes to the audience. But with a bit different description of the abnormal sexual activities, known as the "Gorilla Mask" and the "Poltergeist."
In his review of Amy's show, Sean L. McCarthy noted the following, as per DECIDER, "With apologies perhaps to the late great Patrice O'Neal, Amy Schumer has her own real and imagined sex positions she wants to lay on us, from the Dirty Rochester to the Dolphin, the Alaskan Pipeline, the Raccoon, the Abraham Lincoln, and the Houdini - "which is rape. It's just rape."'
After the controversy caught Schumer's attention, she responded through Twitter, saying, "Thanks man. I have never seen that Patrice bit but I will watch today. I love and miss him."
Schumer hasn't released any details about the allegations yet.
As we previously reported, Amy Schumer is currently preparing for the release of her new book, which will be filled with "personal and observational stories from Schumer that range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing."
The book is said to be released in late 2016, which will be out under the Gallery Book imprints. The title of the book is yet to be announced.
