Fox News reported that Australian actress and film producer - Nicole Kidman recently revealed, at the Women in the World summit held in London on Friday, how her notorious break up from Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise and the loneliness that followed set her on a new path.
In 2001, the 10-year marriage of Nicole Kidman to the Edge Of Tomorrow actor Tom Cruise was in a state of total disorder. Kidman and Cruise went through a high-profile divorce. In spite of the fact that Kidman admits the break-up continued to disturb her, she said that her divorce to Tom Cruise allowed her to focus more on her work.
At the Women in the World summit, Kidman was asked about how the divorce affected her career and how the actress dealt with it. Kidman stated, "Out of that came work that was praised, so that was an interesting thing for me, because I was like, 'Ah.' So I then held closely my own life and I got myself together and it took me a couple of years and during that time I worked a lot. The work was a substantial place for me to exist."
With the her new commitment she later went on to win an Oscar for her role as Virginia Woolf in the British-American drama film 'The Hours.'
And while she was speaking to the audience at the Women in the World summit, the actress revealed that her center of interest may have led to a satisfying Oscar win, however, she continued by saying that something was still missing in her life and the actress hadn't yet found fulfillment.
Kidman said, "That work, reached a climax in winning an Oscar and the reason for an epiphany. I was sitting in the Beverly Hills Hotel while holding this gold statue and it was all remarkable and I was the loneliest I'd ever been."
