Troubling new details surrounding the death of Cathriona White, Irish makeup artist and on-again off-again girlfriend of Jim Carrey, have surfaced.
Cathriona White allegedly received a number of messages from her biological mother, Brigid Sweetman, a few days before she committed suicide, a new report claims. Her mother reportedly called her a “failure” in life after she and Jim Carrey called it quits on September 24.
As previously reported, White's body was found unresponsive last week after an apparent suicide.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that friends of Cathriona had informed the police of her mother’s hateful messages just days before her death. Now with the tragic information, the local authorities dug deeper to check the validity of the notes.
Not only did the investigators reportedly reveal the existence of the messages, but they also learned this wasn’t Cathriona’s first attempt at suicide. They have learned that White attempted suicide once before in 2012 after her father died of brain cancer.
The message from White's mother was received on her 30th birthday, according to the Daily Mail. The day Cathriona committed suicide was also the third anniversary of her father's death.
Cathriona White was found dead in her Los Angeles home by two of her friends, surrounded by a suicide note that was addressed to Jim Carrey and three prescription drug bottles that allegedly belonged to her ex-boyfriend.
The three were prescribed to a “fictional male” Jim reportedly used. But at the time, he was unaware Cathriona had taken them.

Though an autopsy of White's body was officially completed on Sunday, an additional "eight to ten weeks" is needed for further testing before the results are released.
Cathriona White was legally married to another man at the time of her passing, meaning her belongings must be given to the husband.
