Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has gushed about his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at an event on Wednesday.
Mark took to Facebook few hours later to express his joy over what he called a "personal milestone," South China Morning Post reported.
"On a personal note, this was the first time I've ever spoken with a world leader entirely in a foreign language," he wrote on his page about the conversation which lasted less than a minute. "I consider that a meaningful personal milestone."
A photo posted alongside the post showed Mark greeting the president. He was in a suit and tie - a very rare practice of the internet billionaire - together with China's internet star Lu Wei - the one responsible in controlling the country's great firewall which blocks Facebook among other foreign websites - stood by the two in a broad smile.
"It was an honour to meet President Xi and other leaders," Mark's post read, adding that internet users could follow updates of the president's first state visit to the United States on the Facebook page "Xi's US Visit".
Mark met Xi when the president dropped by Microsoft's main office in Redmond on Wednesday, DailyMail informed. A Microsoft spokesperson stated that the president spoke for only about six minutes during the meeting and that no one of the American business leaders responded.
The Facebook founder's post about his momentary chat with Xi parked debate among internet users over China's censorship. "He has already banned your Facebook in China ... Why did you meet him," one user remarked.
To recall, this is not the first time that Mark has shown his admiration for the Chinese president. Press photographs showed a copy of The Governance of China - a collection of Xi's speeches - on Marks desk when he welcomed Lu Wei on a visit to his company's headquarters in December.
