Amy Schumer to Write Memoir

The Emmy Award-winning actress, Amy Schumer is said to be writing a book. It will be out under the Gallery Books imprints, which will be released in late 2016.

The publisher confirmed the news to the The Associated Press on Wednesday. The book is said to be filled with "personal and observational stories from Schumer that range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing," according to USA TODAY.

The publisher has not announced the title of the book nor disclosed the financial term. However, Weekly Tonight reported that the title of Schumer's memoir is 'The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo.' The book reportedly sold for $8 million to $10 million.

Schumer's book is expected to be as successful as that of her fellow comedienne who also released their books earlier. They are Tina Fey, who reportedly closed a $6 million deal for the  'Bossypants,' Lena Dunham garnered $3.7 million for her memoir, 'Not That Kind Of Girl' and Amy Poehler's 'Yes Please,' which reaped Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Humour Part memoir.

Publisher is optimistic that Schumer will attract more readers as she was slated to host 'Saturday Night Live' later this fall.

"Now readers will have the opportunity to meet Amy Schumer as a writer of real talent, a daughter, a sister, and a young professional making her way in the world," Carolyn Reidy, president and CEO of Gallery's parent company Simon & Schuster, said in a statement.

For the record, the 34-year-old actress has appeared in numerous movies, including 'Price Check' and 'Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.' Recently she has had a hit movie, 'Trainwreck.'

She won an Emmy for best sketch comedy series this year. She is also the creator, co-producer, co-writer and star of the comedy series 'Inside Amy Schumer,' which has been airing since 2013.
