Some people just get crazy over food, even when they aren't free. Now, imagine if you are given free sample of food, and on top of that, the said food is a delicious Nutella and Eggo waffles. In a very disturbing event in a Costco shopping center, a scuffle appeared during a free tasting of the Nutella waffles. It included someone getting punched in the face.
Reports filed said that while in line waiting for free samples, a young man by the name of Derek Garabighi, who is 27 years old, punched a man in the eye when he was scolded for grabbing too much sample than needed. The victim of the punch is a 78 year old man, who pointed out that the young Garabigihi was taking too many of the samples and should leave some for the other customers. Instead of apologizing, the young man punched the elderly in the eye.
The poor old man was brought to the hospital and treated for the one inch cut he got from the punch, and swelling for his left eye. The culprit was arrested and is on a $50,000 bail. He is facing one count of elder abuse, as well as special allegation that he inflicted great bodily harm on the elderly man. If the young man is found guilty of the said charges, he could face up to 11 years behind bars.
Nutella is a huge brand of chocolate spread, which originated from Italy. It is popular amongst a varying age group, from children to adults to the elderly. It's a great chocolate spread, but punching a person is no excuse to have more Nutella.
