See the Stunning Opening Cinematic of Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, Releasing This November

PC Gamers are going to have one tough decision to make come November 10. That's because in addition to Bethesda Softworks' Fallout 4, Blizzard Entertainment is releasing the third and final chapter of their Starcraft II trilogy, Legacy of The Void, on that same date.

The company broke the news in true Blizzard fashion, with one of their trademark cinematics. The stunning clip features a band of Protoss soldiers - the subject of Legacy's single player campaign - squaring off against the genocidal Zerg Swarm in a desperate bid to regain control of their home planet of Aiur.

Legacy of the Void will be the final piece of the Starcraft II story Blizzard began with 2010's Wings of Liberty and 2013's Heart of the Swarm. The game's plot will center on the technologically advanced Protoss faction, it's official description reads:

You are Hierarch Artanis, leader of the mighty protoss race. Years ago, your homeworld of Aiur fell to the merciless zerg Swarm. Now, at long last, you have raised a powerful fleet of warships known as the Golden Armada, and are poised to reclaim your world. But an ancient evil-Amon-threatens this destiny and the fate of the entire galaxy. Only you can reunite the protoss factions and defeat the coming darkness before it consumes all life in the sector.

It will ship in three different SKU's. A $40 standard edtion, a $60 digital deluxe variant and an $80 retail only collector's edition that includes all the bonuses of the digital deluxe plus a few extras like a soundtrack and DVD w/ special features.

It's certainly a bold move for Blizzard to be releasing head on against a huge tentpole like Fallout, but the company is banking on its diehard fan base and the promise of an epic conclusion to reel buyers in.
