McDonald’s Breakfast: Golden Arches Officially Rolling Out All-Day Breakfast Starting Oct. 6, Will Egg McMuffin Save Fast Food Giant?

It's been a tough year for the biggest fast food chain in the world, as sales have dropped dramatically over the past few months to the lowest numbers the Golden Arches chain has seen in more than a decade, and the new offer to launch McDonald's breakfast all day long is their ultimate hail Mary pass.

In a recent statement, the chain announced that following a trial, now it was official that stores around the country would be offering McDonald's breakfast throughout the day, and it sounds like they're putting all their money where their McMuffin is.

While the latest move for the chain to improve their sales is the McDonald's breakfast being available throughout the day, it would appear like the company is currently trying everything, having also re-launched their classic character Hamburglar and even cut back their menu items dramatically.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the company has been testing all-day McDonald's breakfast since March, and the success of the move has made the chain decide to keep this for the long run, officially launching items like the classic Egg McMuffin to be eaten at any time of the day, after franchises voted for this last week.

"This is the consumers' idea. This is what they want us to do," said Mike Andress, the McDonald's America president, when speaking about the new decision to launch all-day McDonald's breakfast in the country, Time Magazine reports. "That's why I think this could be the catalyst for our turnaround."

However, not everybody is all that excited about this new launch, as websites such as AV Club claim this could go against everything that the company's breakfast menu stands for, turning it into a "too much of a good thing" kind of scenario.

Analysts will have to wait until October 6, the official all-day McDonald's breakfast launch date, to see whether this new move will be a success.
