Pamela Anderson: Doing Good Things Keeps Her Young

Pamela Anderson is still high-spirited. She is approaching the age of 50, but her age is just a number, it does not bother her.

The former Baywatch star celebrated her 48th birthday last month. Although she is turning 50 in two years' time, she actually feels like she's "getting younger."

She told PEOPLE, "It is what it is. Besides, I feel like I'm getting younger all the time."

As she ages, Anderson embraces her aging positively by looking up at her role models.

"I love Jane Fonda and Brigitte Bardot. It's like what the old saying goes: 'Beauty comes from within.' It's about embracing it and feeling great about what you have. And doing the best for you."

Anderson also revealed that she once tried the cosmetic procedure, Botox, but eventually, she didn't like the result.

"I am the last person to try Botox but I did," she says. "I felt like my eyes sunk into my head so far that I didn't  look like me anymore! I'm not into all that stuff."

For Anderson "a little bit of maintenance is good." However, she thinks "there are things we can do to perk ourselves up. Some people go too far. I'm not obsessed."

The actress, who has authored a new coffee table book, Raw, believes "doing good things keeps you young." Which also means sticking to Vegan and devoting herself to the Pamela Anderson Foundation that supports environment and animal rights. She also showcased her new online cooking show 'The Sensual Vegan.'

Anderson is very excited about her new book 'Raw' which she created with her friend, Emma Dunlavy, she said, "a fun look back, a behind the scenes of me being silly in hotel rooms and pages of my journaling. Sometimes when I'm inspired, I write poetry - well, if you want to call it that. They were wild times. Not that I don't have fun and crazy times these days."
