Gamescom 2015: 'Mafia 3' Revealed by 2K Games [WATCH]

2K Games has unveiled the most awaited video game 'Mafia 3' at Gamescom 2015 held at Cologne, Germany.

The third instalment of the 'Mafia' series is set in 1968 New Orleans. Players will be taking control of a Vietnamese veteran named Lincoln Clay. The brand new setting is accompanied by fresh characters. The upcoming video game will be powered by high-end hardware to give gamers a different experience.

The new game edition is different from the first two instalments which set in the early period of 1900 America which focused on organize crime. The presence of shootouts and car chases makes the game similar to the open world action-adventure video game series GTA.

Gamers can expect an action-packed adventure game. The main character whose crew was murdered by the Italian mob will recruit gang members to take his revenge against the killers. The game will occur during the racially charged period in the history of America which makes the game more interesting. The game will deal and explore common racial issues.

New special abilities will be unlocked during the game as Clay recruits new members. Mafia 3 will be featuring authentic weapons, cars, fashion and songs during the era. Gaming enthusiasts can expect the 'Along the Watchtower', 'Paint it Black' and 'Fortunate Son' in the game.

A new video trailer has been released to showcase the incredible gameplay footage. The video also provides a glimpse of the setting and atmosphere of Mafia 3.

The first instalment of the Mafia series was released in 2002, followed by the second edition in 2010 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Mafia 3 is still under the development of Hanger 13. The game is targeted to be issued next year. The upcoming game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The fans of the series have been waiting for the comeback of the action-adventure game.
