When people unite behind a common cause, great things happen.
Just today, no less than a thousand musicians from Rockin' 1000, a group from Italy consisting of singers, guitarists, bassists, and drummers, and everyone singing in between, created a video of them performing the classic song 'Learn to Fly' by The Foo Fighters. They did this awesome feat in a bid to win the hearts-- and commitment-- of the band to come and visit their beautiful town Cesena, Italy.
The moving 7:28 minute video has 3.2 million views as of this writing. The ambitious brain behind the project, Fabio Zaffagnini, appealed to the five members of the band: Chris, Pat, Nate, Taylor, and frontman Dave Grohl, telling them the passion and creativity that Italy is brimming with--and the undying love for the band and their music. In a massive show of support, fans from all over the nation heeded the call and came, at their own expense, to play and cheer for the iconic band.
The video was shared on The Foo Fighters Twitter page and Dave Grohl had this to say initially:
"Che bello, Cesena...." or "That's nice, Cesena..."
A few hours after, however, this reply also came in:
"Ce vediamo a presto, Cesena.... xxx David" and translated into English, "See you soon, Cesena.... xxx David"
It worked! Not only did the tireless organizers get the attention of millions of fellow Foo Fighters fans, they also got their wish: a YES from the legendary rock star himself. To be able to participate in an event of this size is no doubt a source of pride for the Italian fans.
Thousands upon thousands of likes, favorites, shares, and tweets have been posted by eager fans who want nothing more than to see The Foo Fighters do what they do best: unite people with their music.
