Several cast members of the 2006 American musical television film 'High School Musical' reunited on Saturday, July 25, at the premiere series of the upcoming Disney Channel's original movie 'Descendants' directed by Kenny Ortega, according to reports.
Although two of High School Musical's main stars, Vanessa Hudgens and Zach Efron were not spotted at the event, other stars such as Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Olesya Tulin were all present to support their director friend and his new film.
Efron was not able to make it to the event because he's currently filming in Hawaii for his new film 'Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates," while Hudgens on the other hand, declined to attend due to family reasons.
"They are loving and wonderful friends, and I know we would have enjoyed having them there," Ortega said.
Those who attended posed together on the red carpet and Ortega later posted on his Instagram page about the mini-reunion as he thanked everyone from his High School Musical family for celebrating with him on his new success.
"What team? Wildcats! And how I love you all!", he wrote. "Thank you for celebrating with me,"

Monique Coleman on a separate Instagram post, shared another photo with a caption, "But, first, let us take a#selfie! #Descendants Premiere supporting @kennyortegablog & #DisneyChannel #stillinthistogether."
Reports say that Ortega was surprised to see everyone present while he was promoting his new film.
"They were there to support me, and they were there to support the kids," said. "And they couldn't have been more generous with their reaction and the energy that they've given to the project. It was lovely."
'Descendants' stars Sarah Jeffery, Mitchell Hope, Dianne Doan, Jedidiah Goodacre, Dianne Doan, Brenna D'Amico, Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart, Cameron Boyce and Sofia Carson.
The live-action film is a story that revolves around the lives of teenagers, whose parents are some of Disney's greatest villains, as they go to prep school with the Disney royals and heroes.
The film was first aired at the WATCH Disney Channel and Comcasts's Xfinity last July 24, 2015, Friday. 'Descendants' will officially debut onJuly 31, Friday, at 8 P.M. EST.
