Multinational tech company Microsoft has released the latest version of Office 2016 for Mac. Corporate Vice President for the Office Client Applications and Services team Kirk Koenigsbauer wrote that the new Office 2016 for Mac is now accessible in 139 countries around the world. The updates made on the apps will be experienced first by the Office 365 users.
The new productivity suite is powered by the cloud, allowing users to have access to their personal documents whenever, wherever using any device. The new version is connected with OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint and Office 365 in order for users to open and edit their documents easily by simply logging in to their Office account.
For years, Mac users seldom receive Office app updates. Windows consumers have always been the priority of Microsoft. But now, after five years, the tech company has finally released the latest version of Office for Mac with a promise never to neglect them in the future.
The lead engineer on Office for Mac Han-yi Shaw stated, "We're working at a pace of monthly updates. The days of waiting years for new software-those days are over."
Shaw confirmed that Office developer will now be able to regularly update the apps of Office 2016 for Mac and iPad because now, the code base is similar to that used in the Windows version.
The updated version of Office 2016 which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote will offer the same kind of user interface and task panes as that in Windows. Other features include multi-touch gestures and a full screen view.

The Office 2016 preview was first released last March. In four months, the company has already made major improvements on the product.
