The year 2016 was the supposed year for the much-awaited release of the Nintendo NX, the company's newest gaming console. However, Forbes reports that next year would be a far-fetched guess as to the final unveiling of the product.
Most gaming enthusiasts are aware that the gaming company is currently struggling in terms of competing against products from their competitors. The Nintendo Wii U, which was launched in 2012 continues to trail behind Sony's PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One from Microsoft.
To address the issue, Nintendo is planning to push its new gaming device and release it as soon as possible.
As IGN reports, the Nintendo NX will be manufactured starting this October and will be produced in a large scale by May or July 2016 by Foxconn Electronics. Nintendo promised fans that they will not be releasing any leaks and updates until 2016.
But many critics have given their opinions concerning the estimated release in July 2016. They believe that the scheduled launch is too unlikely for Nintendo as for large gaming companies, launching a product just a few months after the first announcement is extremely rare.
Even if Nintendo is rushing to replace the Wii U, the aforementioned plan is also not their common approach.
Gaming consoles also typically do not stay in the market for a few years before getting replaced, which means that the four-year-old Nintendo Wii U still has time to prove its place in the industry.
Currently, the company is firm with their stand not to reveal more details about the Nintendo NX. The only certain information there is that Nintendo will disclose the product next year.
