E3 2015: Nintendo Reveals 8-Bit Mario Amiibo

Due to its popularity, Nintendo is making more Amiibos based on characters from one of their most popular games, Super Mario.

Last November, there were already five Marios revealed: Super Smash Bros. Mario, Party Mario, Gold Mario, Silver Mario and Dr. Mario. An email from Nintendo Spain exposed that there is going to be a sixth, 8-bit Mario.

Mario fans were thrilled when Nintendo released the silver Mario Amiibo, which is not tied to a specific retailer unlike the gold Mario. The silver edition is entirely compatible with a lot of Wii U and 3DS games, including Mario Party 10, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy+.

According to collectors at My Amiibo News, the official social media account of Nintendo of Europe tweeted an image of four Animal Crossing figures other than the 8-bit Mario, which were Mabel, Isabelle, Tom Nook, and the cool K.K slider.

Higher-quality images were later found on Nintendo Europe's servers, which were immediately removed but were saved and re-uploaded by a resourceful fan. More details about the new Amiibo and actual games will be shown at Nintendo's E3 presentation.

The new Amiibos following the official confirmation that all Smash characters, including the newly revealed Ryu and Roy, will make their way to molding machines where they create pure amiibo magic.

Amiibos can store game data, when players touch it to a Wii U Game pad, the character data is downloaded into the game and the user can save the data from the game into the figurine.

The NDP Group said that Nintendo's Amiibos are very popular in the market. The gaming accessory sales increased by 20 percent last month to $149.3 million, due to the high demand for these interactive toys.
