E3 2015: Nintendo Highlights ‘Star Fox Zero’ [WATCH]

Nintendo showcased a number of games for the Wii U and 3DS at E3 2015 event and one that garnered the most attention was Star Fox Zero, an upcoming sci-fi fighting game.

The original Star Fox was played on the Super Nintendo back in 1993 and some of its characters have appeared in other games like Super Smash Brothers ever since.

The new game features multi-level vehicle play and a way to control Fox remotely when he finishes EVA activities while being connected to his fighter. There are also two different viewpoints provided, the traditional TV gameplay and the unique cockpit view on the Wii U Gamepad controller.

The in-game footage revealed a number of vehicles, including the classic Arwing, the Landmaster tank, ostrich-looking walker robot, and the 'Gyro-wing', a helicopter.  Players can perform tricks on Arwing, such as somersault, U-turn, and a Barrel Roll by simply using both the right and left control sticks.

Star Fox Zero will not have an online multiplayer game which was explained by Shigeru Miyamoto, game designer and producer, as the team has been focusing on high-quality single-player experience.

"So, we're really prioritizing getting this new game playing at 60 frames-per-second. In previous Star Fox games we had focused a lot on dogfighting, but here we're really focused more the single-player experience," he said.

Nintendo didn't state anything about the open-world Wii U Zelda title that was announced last year in E3, but gamers are still enthusiastic about the other titles released.

There is a new three-player Zelda title, called Triforce Heroes for the 3DS that is scheduled to be released this year. This game is a follow-up to the Four Swords franchise that utilizes the Link between Worlds engine.

Another game introduced was Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, which is a peaceful board game for Wii U that would break fewer friendships than Mario party. The Animal Crossing Amiibo could be scanned into the game and used as game pieces. The game will be available to Nintendo fanatics this holiday season.
