Lil Wayne has debuted another song featuring American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth called "Nothing But Trouble," which comes from the new "Free Weezy" record.
Wayne and Puth have collaborated to work for the Atlantic/Big Beats soundtrack that will be used for the upcoming film '808', a documentary about the iconic Roland RT-808 which is a drum machine used by musicians in creating demos.
The release comes ahead of the rapper's upcoming album "Free Weezy" which is set to hit record and online stores this weekend.
"Nothing But Trouble" seems to be a jab about social media platforms, particularly Twitter and Instagram. The rapper just joined the image-sharing website in March and he seems to be referring to the many pretty faces that have been causing him trouble.
"I'm facing the bottle for all of my problems/These Instagram models are nothing but trouble/She's going away now (Now it's over) I'm going full throttle (You drive me crazy) All these Instagram models/ I said they're nothing but trouble," according to a few of the lines sung by Puth.
Charlie Puth, 24, who previously sang on Wiz Khalifa's hit "See You Again," performs in the new track with the same smooth and vulnerable voice akin to his performance in the former.
While this has been a bumpy year for 33-year old Lil Wayne after getting involved in issues, including his ongoing clash with recording studio Cash Money, things may soon be picking up for him as early listeners are considering "Nothing But Trouble" as one of this biggest tracks for the year.
Just like the Khalifa-Puth blending, the Lil Wayne and Charlie Puth team-up will surely make the new track a real hit, with Wayne's trademark rapping serving as a great contrast to Puth's soft serenading voice.
Lil Wayne's "Loyal" with Chris Brown and Tyga was recently nominated for Top R&B Song at this year's BET Awards. Charlie Puth, on the other hand, is currently on tour with "All About That Bass" singer Megan Trainor.
