Lil Wayne Sues Cash Money: [+REPORT] Lil Wayne Demands $51 Million & Declare Him Joint Copyright Holder Of All The Young Money Recordings

Lil Wayne sues Cash Money, the record label company founded by Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams for allegedly withholding hefty amount of dollars that the record company owes him for his long delayed album "The Carter V."

Part of the lawsuit that Lil Wayne filed in court was his wish to be freed from his contract from Birdman's company. Lil Wayne sues Cash Money records as they have failed to pay him his due earnings.

Rolling Stone reported that aside from the money he has been demanding, the "Lollipop" rapper asked the judge to declare him as a joint copyright holder of all the young Money recordings, an imprint of Cash Money including recordings by Nicki Minaj, Drake and others.

While Lil Wayne sues Cash Money he demands payment of $51 million for the cash withheld by the company for his long impending album. Lil Wayne stated that Birdman's company owes him $8 million as advance payment and additional $2 million after it has been out, TIME reported.

"The Carter V" album was apparently slated to be out in December. Disappointed with his position in his recording company, he claimed himself to be a "prisoner" and took his grudge to Twitter by saying, "I want off this label" in a December post. Lil Wayne sues Cash Money following his resentment.

Originally, the New Orleans native claimed that his album was supposed to be released in May and then was moved to December. He added, his album didn’t come out even it was in the ads of the record company’s official website that it will be out soon.
As Lil Wayne sues Cash Money today, earlier in December, the New Orleans rapper also took to Twitter his rift over Cash Money for not releasing his album.

To add up to his frustrations, he released a mixtape on Jan. 20 entitled ‘Sorry 4 the Wait” to air his resentment in a form of a song. The lyrics goes like these, “Did my time at Cash Money, time served and released/But this agent ain't free, word, that's the word on these streets.”
It was followed up with "CoCo," that directly names Cash Money in the track. “Cash Money is an army, I'm a one-man army/And if them niggas comin' for me, I'm goin' out like Tony/Now I don't want no problems, I just want my money.”

It seemed that Lil Wayne is now up and over. Lil Wayne sues Cash Money, let’s see where this case goes. “The Carter V” was supposed to be the rapper’s second album following “I am not a Human Being II” in 2013. It is the second album included in his four-album deal with the record company.
