Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, tweeted to congratulate Jurassic World's actor Chris Pratt, director Colin Trevorrow, producers Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg, on the film's opening box office weekend. The record breaking film Jurassic World went up to take the spot previously held by the Avengers.

Andy Park, Marvel's concept artist head, created the artwork featuring - Avengers watching Chris Pratt as he rides a T-Rex, and Thor's hammer in the T-Rex's hand. The caption on the piece reads: "Marvel Studios congratulates Jurassic World on being the new opening weekend king!"

The opening weekend record of that Avengers held was $207.4 million, and Jurassic World overtook it with an impressive $208.8 million.

The next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of Chris Pratt will be in 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Same thing happened when Steven Spielberg's E.T. broke the record of Star Wars in the early 1980's, George Lucas made an ad to congratulate Spielberg. But Steven Spielberg first congratulated George Lucas on December 2, 1977, when Lucas' Star Wars defeated Steven Spielberg's Jaws in domestic video rental charts.

Chief Analyst Phil Contrino also stated: "This was off the charts big in terms of how it broke out and became must see really fast," "This is a movie that benefited from a new era of Thursday evening shows, which helped spread a very enthusiastic word of mouth."

According to Variety In a span of a single weekend, the Jurassic World globally, is the first movie to cross $500 million, it debuted in China with a huge $100 million. And the film was released first place in all 66 international territories. Chief Analyst Phil Contrino said that it can easily cross the $1 billion mark.
