Pope Meets Up With Putin, Urging Him To Make a Great Effort To Fix the Ukraine Crisis

Russia's President Vladimir Putin met up privately with Pope Francis on Wednesday at the Vatican in Italy and according to The Moscow Times, Pope Francis have that stern look when he urged Putin to create a "sincere and great effort" to gain peace in Ukraine.

Their meeting lasted for almost an hour, 50 minutes to be exact and both have agreed to work on implementing a new peace deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia. The Vatican warmly welcomed Putin that there was even a ceremonial Swill Guard stint upon his arrival. It was with full honors and regalia that the Vatican recognized his presence for the said meeting with the Pope.

Italy has always been a comfort zone for the Russian President according to The New York Times and it figures since the two countries have very strong ties dealing with their business related to trade and energy. He toured Milan to see his country's exhibition at the Expo Milano 2015. Then later on that evening, he was scheduled to have met with the Pope in Rome so he flew all the way there after that event.

CNN recognized the fact that Putin was late for more than an hour for his meeting with the Pope, but the things they need to talk about have been addressed so far. It was a closed-door meeting but the Vatican made a statement to the press, hence the word is out on how the Pope was firm on Putin in making. a great effort to forge peace in Ukraine.

After that meeting, everyone is hoping that an action would take place and that peace would indeed happen on that side of the world. No news as to what Putin plans to do so far regarding the things that he and the Pope had talked about
