'The Mindy Project' Mindy Kaling Teams Up with Umami Burger [PHOTOS]

Actress and comedian Mindy Kaling is adding "burger designer" to her resume. She announced on Monday that she is going to create her very own burger.

To celebrate The Mindy Project's move to Hulu and the release of her second book Why Not Me?, Mindy took to her Instagram account to announce that she is collaborating with Southern California-based chain Umami Burger.

"In the greatest collaboration since Jared and Subway, I am curating a burger for @UmamiBurger that will debut in September in time for #themindyproject launching at @hulu and my book #whynotme!" she captioned a photo of the menu from her first tasting.

Umami Burger has a history of teaming up with well-known personalities on burgers as part of its Artists Series.

Stars like Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Andy Samberg and Top Chef champ Michael Voltaggio have previously put their own spin on the classic burger at the chain.

Although the specifics of the menu item have yet to be revealed, but it is expected that Kaling will get creative on the toppings.

According to a spokesperson for Umami Burger, Mindy fanatics can expect to find out more details on her chosen flavor combinations come mid-August or early September.

The avid foodie showed her love for fastfood by posting series of snaps of her at McDonald's on her social media accounts.

The 35-year-old 'The Mindy Project' creator is known to spoiling her staff with food.

“On the way out of the wrap party @mcdonalds outfitted every guest with happy meals and shamrock shakes. Best goodie bag in history,” Kaling wrote on Instagram.

Talk show host Conan O'Brien even asked her, "“You Tweet a lot about McDonald’s. To The point where I think you’re on their payroll…are you in McDonald’s pocket?” during her guest appearance on the late-night show.
