FIFA Womens World Cup 2015 Has Begun

The 2015 FIFA Womens World Cup has already started. Team USA i s the corwd favorite and is believedto win the World Cup. This team is now ranked 2nd in the world and they are set on winning the World Cup this year. Strong teams like Japan, England and defending champions, Africa are also competing this year.

The Womens World cup will be held in Canada this year. The last time The tournament was held in Canada was in 2011. It is also the first time since 2011 that the World cup will be held in North America.

When asked about their game against Australia, Jill Ellis, Team USA's coach said, "I don't think we played particularly well in the first half. But I was pleased that we grew in the game. The fan support was phenomenal. Our players settled in in the second half, which was much better. That's something we can build upon."

The game ended with a victory by team USA with a score of 3-1 against the Australian team. They were able to win in front of a huge American audience at the Winnipeg Stadium in Canada. USA's goalkeeper Hope Solo tested her skills against team Australias, Emily van Egmond during the early part of the game. USA scores firt with Megan Rapinoe's amazing shot.

After the a quick goal by Australias Lisa De vanna, USA strikes back with another goal by Christen Press during the second half of the game. Finally 15 minutes after USA's second goal, Megan Rapinoe gives USA the winning goal by taking the ball, running the full length of the pitch, getting passed the defenders, and scoring past Australias Goalkeeper, Melissa Barbieri. Their victory is well deserved and is also another step in their goal to win this years FIFA Womens World Cup and bring it to the USA.
