After six months of being hiatus on TV, Stephen Colbert is back with a new show after leaving The Colbert Report.
As per The Rolling Stone's calculation, it has also only been a couple of weeks since David Letterman signed out from doing his late night show that Colbert is now stepping in as the future host of this gig. On his promo video, he was seen without the beard as he jokingly said that CBS asked him to remove it due to the clause that Tom Selleck has with wearing one.
Engadget revealed that Colbert will take over the desk that used to be Letterman's on December of this year. The network as early as now is busy working on the launch of a new iOS app, website and other social media accounts that has Colbert's name on them. This transition is most likely to raise some eyebrows of some viewers, but there is no question that Colbert has the skills and experience to pull this off. It would also be refreshing to have him as a host along with the atmosphere that the network has created since he'll be stepping in. The audience could expect a completely different environment from how Letterman ran the show.
Time Magazine did a countdown of Colbert's show on their page and they too couldn't be more excited about it that they think it's already going to be fun. The future Late Show host did a lot of funny stints on his promo video including trying out different hair style. The "not Hitler" and "half Wolverine" are the ones that made the viewers find remarkable and hard to forge. Another funny thing about the video is them using the song "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Greenday only with the words from "Camptown Races."
