After a 40-year championship drought, the Golden State Warriors are heading to the NBA finals after beating the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
With a final score of 104-90, the Warriors' top player during the fourth game was Stephen Curry, contributing 26 points and 8 rebounds. Harrison Barnes made 24 points.
The crowd was chanting 'MVP' for Curry as the game ended, with yellow pennants and confetti being popped in the court. Riley, his 2-year old daughter, shared his victory and even joined him during the press conference.
Rockets' coach Kevin McHale said that despite the win, the Warriors still had a hard time against his team.
Barnes had to step it up after Klay Thompson was asked to rest in the locker room after having his ear injured by Trevor Ariza's knee during the last quarter.
While Curry was floundering when Thompson left, Barnes took charge and shot more hoops, increasing their lead until they won the fourth game.
Despite James Harden missing many shots, Dwight Howard fought with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
Looking at the accuracy of both teams, the Warriors had 41 percent of their shots, while the Rockets had 35 percent.
Coach Steven Kerr of the Golden State Warriors states, "I always think of Pat Riley's great quote when you're coaching in the NBA, 'There's winning and there's misery.' And he's right. It's more than relief. It's joy. Our players are feeling it. I know our fans are."
Witnessing the victory from the ESPN table, Mark Jackson told the press that he was proud.
This Warriors ended this season with a 67-win record, who seems to have easily swept their opponents throughout the competition.
Fans will have to wait until June 4 to see Curry facing off with small forward LeBron James in the first game of the NBA Finals 2015.
