Hearts broke all over the world on the late days of January 2008, when it was announced that Heath Ledger, then an Oscar nominee for his role in "Brokeback Mountain," had been found dead in his Manhattan home, leaving behind a young daughter with actress Michelle Williams - but it appears that Matilda Ledger's mother is doing a great job with her.
Throughout the young girl's life, Matilda Ledger's mother has kept very private about how her daughter's growing up, as Williams will barely tell small stories about her child and seen with her on rare occasion - and it's all a plan to give the 9 year-old the most normal childhood possible.
According to Hello Magazine, Heath Ledger's sister, Kate, has recently spoken out in an interview to gush about how Matilda Ledger's mother Michelle is raising her, saying Williams tries to keep things as normal as possible for the young girl.
As E! Online reports, in the past Matilda Ledger's mother has spoken to the press about how she's always aimed to give her daughter a good perspective of how her father was, often telling her stories about the "10 Things I Hate About You" actor's childhood in Australia, because Williams thinks it gives the young girl a good perspective to know herself.
"Michelle really does keep things real for her, and her existence, although different from most, is as normal as possible in an abnormal world," Kate told The Daily Mail, speaking wonders about Matilda Ledger's mother to the United Kingdom news outlet.
Matilda was only 2 years old when her father passed away in early 2008.
In all, it seems like Matilda Ledger's mother is more than engaged in keeping Heath's memory alive for the world to see and particularly so his daughter gets some perspective as to who her dad was.
