Former 'X Factor' contestant Nathaniel O'Brien has died in a car crash in South Australia.
The Mid-North teenager hit the stage at the Burra Country Music Festival on Sunday morning and was supposed to perform at the Tea Tree Gully Hotel on that evening. But his scheduled show was cancelled after organizers found out that Nathaniel was killed in a car crash just before 11 am.
According to ABC, South Australian police and emergency crews were called reporting about a car crash at the Barrier Highway at Hanson, south of Burra. Police confirmed that a Ford sedan hit into a tree that instantly killed O'Brien and no one else was involve in the accident.
A barrier was placed by the authorities between the town of Hanson and nearby Acacia Road for the clearing of the wreckage, it was closed for several hours. Now, officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the car crash incident.
The 19 year old musician appeared in last year's season of the 'X-Factor' and was mentored by Natalie Bassingwaigthe. After hearing the tragic news, the former coach then took her thoughts to Twitter. "My heart goes out to Nathaniel O'Brien's family after hearing of his tragic passing. What a spectacular young man with the voice of an angel," she wrote.
The 'X Factor' management also released a statement over Nathaniel's death, according to The Advertiser. "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Nathaniel O'Brien - our hearts go out to the whole O'Brien family. Nathaniel's beautiful voice won him many fans, he was truly talented and a beautiful young man. Much love from The X Factor family. X," the message reads.
Social media platform was also flooded with sincere condolences to his family.
With his genuine talent, O' Brien was actually named as Most Promising Future Star for 2014.
