It has been said that the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that, the plans of Sony of Peter Parker as Spider Man to go all "expanded universe" have changed.
But, according to Drew Goddard, the scriptwriter of the 2015 American science fiction film 'The Martian,' there's still a feeling of expectation for his "Sinister Six" villain team-up movie.
Drew Goddard stated that, "It slots in very well to any plan anybody ever wants," Goddard also said, "We just need to let a couple years go by, I think."
Before the Spider Man swung to Marvel Cinematic Universe, the initial plan was to make a group of supervillains who appear in the American comic books - 'Sinister Six' after 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' was released.
Drew Goddard spent a year working on the script for 'Sinister Six,' which he thought was his directorial follow-up to the 2012 American horror comedy film 'The Cabin in the Woods.' But, when the Amazing Spider-Man 2 did not do well with the audiences and critics - Drew Goddard's plans were shelved.
While 'Sinister Six' is greatly back burned as of the moment, Goddard hinted some substantial story details about the movie that fans would surely want to see.
Drew Goddard said, "My vision of that motion picture was a summer annual. So you didn't have to worry about its continuity. It was just, 'We take Peter, put him on an adventure, we put him back in his life.'"
Then, the writer-director went on saying that part of his intention is to make a flick that "didn't have to worry about mythology and continuity," a film that could stand on its own.
Also, Drew Goddard presented as for what that movie is about, plot-wise, "[It's] the giant, epic Spider-Man movie of my dreams."
However, the latest film of the scriptwriter Drew Goddard turned out to be the The Martian, that stars Matt Damon, which is directed by Ridley Scott and slated to hit theaters on October 2.
