Fast and Furious Update: Fast 8 Film To Be Made in Paul Walker’s Honor

When Paul Walker passed away, there was so much uncertainty concerning the filming of the Fast and the Furious 8 sequel. The death of a main character is on top of Hollywood's list when giving up on a project. But thanks to the tremendous success of 'Furious 7', Universal Pictures has managed to keep the franchise alive.

It has been the deep desire of the cast, the crew and the studio to dedicate Fast 8 in honor of the late Paul Walker. So instead of giving up the franchise, they are set to make it Paul Walker's legacy.

During the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year, Vin Diesel made this revelation, "Paul used to say that 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you sometimes feel like you have to make sure it comes to pass. So if fate has it - fate, F8 - then you'll get it...'Furious 7 was for Paul; 8 is from Paul."

Last September 12 was Paul's birthday, he would have been 42. His family, friends and fans celebrated it together, 'nothing big' they said. Remembering that Paul was a 'low-key guy' so it follows.

Paul's brother Coby, told PEOPLE during an interview, that whenever he sees the ocean, he is reminded of Paul. It was remarkable how Paul loved the ocean. So on that occasion, Coby decided to remember Paul by just going to one.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Ludacris and Nathalie Emmanuel greeted Paul with a 'Happy Birthday brother. Grateful you were born,' on their respective social media accounts.

'Fast 8' will not be released until 2017. There has not been any official details on it, except that it seems certain that it will relocate to New York, and the story will relate back to Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell). Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, together with the main cast are sure to return.

Any other information at this point is mere speculation. However, the hype for 'Fast 8' is rising steadily with the passing of each day.

It is set to hit the theatres on April 14,2017.
