Microsoft Reveals Hololens Technology with Minecraft Demo [WATCH]

Microsoft took a big step to overpower its biggest competitor, Sony, by unveiling an impressive holographic technology that will certainly take gaming to the next level during the company's pre-E3 press conference. 

The Hololens is the latest innovative product that will allow players to project their games on any type of surface. The tech company showcased its capabilities by presenting how playing Minecraft will look like if this technology is utilized. 

The game was projected onto a table using the voice command 'build world.' Using the Hololens equipment, the player was able to manipulate and maneuver through the Minecraft world using his hand gestures for the controls. A special camera was attached to the unit, which allowed spectators to see what the player also sees through the gadget. 

On the outside, the table where the game was being played looked empty. 

This video shows the demo that stunned the viewers during the conference.

The Hololens allows players to view Minecraft in 2D when it is projected in surfaces like walls, while a 3D version will be experienced when talbes are used instead. The person wearing the gadget can control the environment and even show the hidden elements in different worlds.

Daniel Rutledge, an online reporter who attended the conference claimed that the demonstration was the most impressive tech display he has ever seen.

Those who were able to watch the demonstration also remarked that the Hololens was the biggest surprise at the E3 event, which is gearing to be a threat to its competitors. 

It seems like Microsoft is on the path to make VR games more accessible to the market. The company has secured a partnership with Valve ER, and ealrier with Oculus to produce VR games for the Xbox. 

Besides the innovative Hololens technology, Microsoft also revealed new games for the Xbox One, which include Forza 6, Gears of War 4 and a look at the new Halo 5.
