At the American Music Awards last weekend, Bleona's see thru dress made headlines after the Albanian star showed up in the red carpet leaving very little to the imagination, in an outfit reminding of Rose McGowan's infamous dress at the 1998 MTV Movie Awards.
The woman dubbed "the Madonna of Albania" appeared almost naked at the AMAs over the weekend, making heads turn as she walked by in the red carpet, according to The Huffington Post. At the very first glance, it's clear that Bleona's see thru dress managed to do just what she meant: shocking the world!
It would seem that Bleona's see thru dress was at least an homage to the now-classic outfit that Rose McGowan wore at the 1998 VMAs, as she walked in the red carpet hand in hand with then-boyfriend Marilyn Manson.
Bleona's see thru dress wouldn't be the first McGowan-esque gown in an award show lately: as The Daily Star reported, model Amber Rose made the red carpet her own at yet another MTV event over the past summer: the Video Music Awards. The beautiful model walked the red carpet bearing not much at all at the time, in a silver outfit that could have been worn by Josephine Baker in the 1920s.
In any case, the latest of the trend of bare-all red carpet gowns is Bleona's see thru dress. She told Us Weekly exclusively that the haute couture outfit (designed by Shahla Dorriz) was sewn on her body from 10 am until she finally went over to the award show that night.
While the European pop and reality television star (currently on Bravo's "Euros of Hollywood") admitted that Bleona's see thru dress wasn't the most comfortable gown to sit down in, she was still happy with the results - unlike her parents, who refused to go out of her apartment that day because she'd left her home practically naked!
