Brooke Shields write about losing her virginity, talks about her mom

Brooke Shields has talked about the men she has been with, her mother and her crazy life in her new book called "There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me".

The Blue Lagoon star has talked about losing her virginity to Dean Cain, one of the men who played the role of Superman. She wrote in her book that she and Cain should probably make the most of their relationship after years of dating.

Shields talked about how her mother also affected her pretty much in everything. She wrote, "She loved that I had briefly dated John Travolta, Jimmy McNichol, Leif Garrett,Scott Baio and John Kennedy. She trusted that I would keep my vow of chastity." Her mother, Teri, is also her manager.

However, she talked about meeting Cain, who was then a football player from Princeton. Shields explained that her mom was "unjustly judgmental" over their romantic relationship as her mother pressed she feared it might go to a deeper level.

She added, "I don't know if she would ever admit to it but this threat went beyond Catholicism. I believe she wanted me to stay hers alone. She believed in an absolute hold she had on me...And growing up, and having sex, would mean that I was leaving her."

However, she still went ahead with it and at 22, she and Cain were together for what seemed like a lifetime for her. She added that losing her virginity was a beautiful experience. She then said that after the joyous moment, guilt rushed up to her.

She pressed that she went to the hall and started running but Cain came after her and held her. However, she noted that that time marked the beginning of the end of her relationship with Cain as she said she could never handle loving someone else more than her mom.

The 49-year-old actress has been married to Chris Henchy and has two children.
