The artists who were able to grab some awards during the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards include host Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, One Direction and many more. The annual event was held at the SSE Hydro located in Glasgow, Scotland and was a night of fun, talent, and a lot of swearing from the host Minaj.
The British boy band One Direction actually took home three awards namely Best Live, Biggest Fans, and Best Pop. The boys were not able to attend the event but accepted their award online as they were show on the screen during the show.
Best U.S. Act went to Fifth Harmony while the Best Song for this year was awarded to Ariana Grande with her song "Problem", which featured rapper Iggy Azalea. Grande also nabbed the award for Best Female of the year. Grande had positive reviews as she performed a live rendition of her songs "Problem" and "Breakfree".
Best male went to Justin Bieber while Best New and Best Push went to the band 5 Seconds of Summer. The Best Video and Best Look awards were given to Katy Perry's "Dark Horse", which featured artist Juicy J.
Best Rock was nabbed by Linkin Park while Best Alternative went to Thirty Seconds to Mars. Best Hip-hop was given to Nicki Minaj while the Best Electronic was awarded to Afrojack.
The Best Video With A Message was given to Beyonce's "Pretty Hurts", the Best World Stage was given to Enrique Iglesias, the Best Worldwide Award went to artist Bibi Zhou and the Global Icon award was Ozzy Osbourne. Osbourne's award was a special award and was presented by Slash, another legendary in the music world.
Other highlights of the event was when Nicki Minaj wore revealing outfits as she was the host, the presenter and one of the numbers that performed during the EMAs.
Other artists who performed include Charli XCX, Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran and U2.
