Starbucks Bans Rings: New Dress Code Includes New Tattoo Rules, Finger Nail Colors And NO Engagement Rings!

The latest dress code by the famous Seattle-based coffee franchise has a new, wildly unpopular policy: Starbucks bans rings.

Late last month, the company famous for its seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte released a new dress code for its employers, particularly baristas, to supposedly improve the quality of their services and further adhere to food and health safety rules. There's only one problem, though: Starbucks bans rings, too.

According to the New York Daily News, customers have met the decision with discomfort, saying it was absurd that employers couldn't be able to have their rings on while they were fixing coffee and that it was a violation of rights.

It's not the only group of people who've complained about the new dress code - the fact that Starbucks bans rings has annoyed employees too, and even their spouses.

According to Syracuse.com, people have taken to social media to talk about the new dress code, with complaints such as men saying it was unfair and ridiculous that their wives couldn't take their rings to work.

However, it is untrue that the Starbucks ban on rings also means that people are not allowed to wear their wedding ones either - as a matter of fact, the dress code (called "Making an Appearance") specifies that the only problem is with rings that have stones in them.

Besides the small "Starbucks bans rings" scandal, the company has made a few odd choices when it comes to their dress code: now, tattoos and piercings are actually allowed to a point.

When it comes to ink, visible tattoos are all right, as long as they are neither on the face nor the neck; piercings-wise, they'll allow their baristas to wear up to two on each ear, and gauges no bigger than 10mm ... and, oddly enough, small nose studs are also allowed, but no rings.

It seems that the new dress code is meant to comply with federal regulations, but it hasn't stopped people involved with the company to really resent Starbucks' ban on rings.
