A man from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada has allegedly seen a dead mouse on his McDonalds cup of coffee.
Ron Morais, a 57-year-old man living in New Maryland claims he ordered a medium black coffee Monday, Oct. 13 from a McDonalds Prospect Street location on his way to work. He stated that he was drinking his usual morning coffee until he took out the lid as he usually does to enjoy the last sips.
"It was disbelief," Morais recounts. "Oh my god! There's a mouse in my cup!" The man also said that he also found what is said to be "a few little presents" at the bottom.
In his skepticism, Morais showed his McDonalds McCoffee with mouse to his colleagues who cannot believe to what they've seen. Brad Patterson, his workmate said that he can't really accept it was true unless he had actually seen it.
Jason Patuano, the communications manager for the Eastern region for McDonalds Canada, answered the allegations through a corporate statement that says, "We take allegations involving cleanliness and sanitation very seriously."
Patuano added that the moment they have learned of the incident, the local franchisee began an examination Tuesday where local public health authority and pest control company joined to investigate.
Through the investigation of McDonalds McCoffee with mouse, the Department of Health restaurant inspection concluded that there was no proof of pests as all the food items were closed while the pest control company in charged has found that there were no reported rodents in the structure.
McDonalds officials said that they are still investigating on the McCoffee with Mouse case and are trying their best to reach Morais to get the product sample. They also suggest people not to make conclusions until the final result has come out.
Meanwhile, Morais claimed that he is still waiting for McDonalds response regarding the mouse in the coffee incident. He has no plans of suing the giant company, but has asked for assurance that it won't ever happen to anyone else ever again.
