Fastfood Failure- Even Giant Fastfoods Fail

Fastfood Failure- Fastfood companies spend numerous years thinking of new products to add to their product line. These restaurants have proven that combination of marketing and right product can bring billion of dollars. But not all careful planning ends up to reaping success.

New product has always risk attach to it whether it will be accepted or not.  New concept, new taste, packaging or a new idea could go bad. Sometimes product test also don't give the right sales trend expected.

Below are fastfood failure marketing plans that have been in the market but didn't last too long for unexpected reasons.

Wendy's Frescata sandwiches

Frescata was launched in 2005 and was intended to compete with Subway sandwiches. It failed because customers didn't appreciate waiting for longer time. Frescata is longer to prepare than burgers.

McDonald's Hula Burger

Vegetarians may like Hula Burger but not all. Hula Burger makes use of grilled pineapple slice instead of a meat patty. It was created to offer option for Catholics who don't eat meat on Fridays.

McPizza

In the 1980s, McPizza was introduced as a dinner item. But pizzas are not for fastfoods and customers got disappointed waiting for longer time. Certainly the made-to-order pizza takes longer to cook than the regular Mc Donald's burgers.

Arch Deluxe

This is the most expensive Fastfood failure of Mc Donald's as the company spent $100 million on its marketing ads. Deluxe was launched in 1996 to target adult customers, a quarter-pounder with cheese, tomato, lettuce, peppered bacon, onions, ketchup and secret sauce.

 McHotDog

At Mc Donald's, customers prefer eating burgers rather than hotdogs. McHotDog is a basic hotdog item that didn't make it just because it doesn't appeal to the customers.

Burger King Table Service

Biggest fastfood failure of Burger King almost led to bankruptcy when they launched a table service that didn't appeal to its customers. It intimidated others with their idea of introducing waiters, table cloths on the plastic tables, and offering popcorn as an appetizer.
